HR Intern
POSITION PURPOSE
- As an Intern in the HR Department, you will assist with all administration duties including providing Human Resources support where necessary to achieve the organizational goals.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum Diploma from an accredited institution in Human Resources or related field.
- At least 1 year in training or HR related field.
- BCom Degree in Human Resources or related field added advantage.
Technical Skills:
- Comprehensive PC Skills: MS Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
- Knowledge and understanding of Skills Development Act and associated processes.
- Basic knowledge of SAQA and the NQF.
- Some experience with recruitment processes would be an advantage.
POSITION OUTPUTS
- Maintain confidentiality while providing counselling and assistance with employee health and addiction-related problems.
- Assist with updating and developing new policies and procedures.
- Assist with monitoring overtime hours, time keeping and leave days.
- Assist with the completing of department reports and statistics, such as, Training and HR monthly reports, ESG report, HR Report, EE report etc.
- Assist with training related correspondence and feedback to Senior Management, HR and all staff.
- Assist with conducting HR induction.
- Scheduling of some training matters as required i.e. internal courses/competency panel assessments / interviews / disciplinary /counselling sessions.
- Maintaining Department records, also ensuring learner files are kept updated with training and other required records.
- Liaise with the SETA and Recruitment Agency as required by the Line Manager.
- Order consumables from stores for the department as requested by the Line Manager.
- Scheduling, recording and distributing of HR meeting minutes.
- Taking minutes for all department meetings, such as EE meetings, HR department Meetings, and Grievance and Disciplinary meetings.
- Assist with compiling data for BBBEE scorecards such as Management control and Skills Development scorecard as well as socio-economic development as requested.
- Liaise with external providers regarding placement bookings and receiving of invoices.
- Ensure subsidized education contracts are signed and filed and monitor progress.
- Ensure timelines and pre-set schedules for operators are met.
- Co-ordinate site visits when required.
- When required, send internal posting to preferred external agencies.
- Receive all CVs for positions advertised and assist with compiling the schedule of applications to shortlist candidates for interviews.
- Distribute interview schedule and C.V's to relevant department Managers.
- Ensure supporting interview documentation is filed in the records room.
- Assist with recruitment processes as well as arranging pre-employment medicals.
- Assist with reference checks and background checks (I.D verification, Qualifications and Criminal records).
- Assist with Performance Management such as capturing feedback from appraisals and training needs.
- Report faults and any defects found in and around the Department.
- Actively participate in and contribute to the success of HR, company and its people by adopting and living the values and principles of the company.
